Author's Review
There are so many great reviews on the iPod Mini that it will be hard for me to add much information that is useful, but I wanted to point out a few of the problems that I have had with it.
None of these issues I have with the Mini iPod are large enough that I would hesitate in recommending it to anyone. Overall it is awesome, I always have it with me. It is so small that it is never a nuisance to carry. However, if Apple could resolve the few issues I have. . .
The first is more of an issue with the iTunes software, but affects the ease of use of the iPod. I have both a regular iPod and the Mini, iTunes makes it very difficult to switch between the two.
The second is a minor issue, that is more of just an annoyance. If the Mini is turned off, with the Hold on and the headphones not plugged in, if you plug the headphones in, the Mini will turn on. The Hold switch is on, it shouldn't do anything if the Hold switch is on. The reason this is a bother is that it uses up battery until it turns itself of, this isn't a lot of battery, but every minute is precious.
My third issue, is my biggest. I recently moved to a much colder climate, and I am always wearing gloves when I am outside. I love listening to music while I walk. However, the touchpad is almost impossible to use when you have gloves on. Therefore I have to remove a glove in order to turn down the volume, skip a song, etc. This might seem like a minor issue to most people. . .
Other than those three things, I love it! I would recommend it to anyone who likes to listen to music.
