Author's Review
My first Mac experience came when my boyfriend purchased a lime green iMac in 1999. Before this, I was a diehard PC user. When we got the iMac, I was hooked instantly. When it came time for me to purchase a laptop, the choice was obvious. My laptop has all the qualities I look for in a computer. It's fast, user friendly, and I have not had any kind of trouble with it. No crashes...no freezes...nothing. Additionally, the laptop is gorgeous. Every Apple product I have owned so far has been work of art.
Mac OS 10.3 is a dream come true. Being a UNIX-based OS, it is extremely stable and intuitive. It even looks good. One of the features that impressed me most was the built-in drivers for printers, scanners, and digital cameras. This means you can hook up your device without having install anything off the disc that came with your device. I must admit at first I was skeptical about this. I had a six-year old Epson Stylus Color 740 printer that I wanted to try using with my laptop. I didn't think it was going to work. I hooked it up, hit print, and instantly the computer recognized the printer! I was able to print my documents without installing a thing. I also tried this with my digital camera (a Canon Powershot A60), and it worked like a charm. Bravo Apple!
Overall, I have been nothing but satisfied with my purchase. I will definitely continue to purchase Mac computers in the future.
