Garmin nüvi 350 Car GPS Receiver

I purchased a Garmin nuvi 350 in May 2007. The satellites went out while on a long distance trip to the East Coast. We were lost in a rural area and spent a lot of time trying to find someone who could help us get to an interstate. The unit never did acquire its satellites. We returned it to the company and they replaced it with a reconditioned unit. On the next long distance trip the window mount broke and we had to hold the unit in our laps and then the unit would not turn on or off unless we used the charger. The button would not respond. So, we are again sending the unit back. Upon speaking to a Garmin supervisor, we were told that if something happened a third time, the company would discuss an upgrade. We do not feel comfortable taking yet another re-conditioned unit on a trip. We requested a new unit, but he would not discuss this unless something went wrong with a third unit. He felt that an actual history of problem had not yet occurred and that the re-conditioned units went through rigorous testing and were as good as the new product. We feel that because the second unit had something wrong, that a re-conditioned unit obviously is not as good as a new unit. Apparently to the company, 3 times a charm. We have had two different units that have had problems on two back to back trips. We are not pleased with the company or the unit.
