Author's Review
This is my second version of our cannon SD. We had our previous cannon for five years and then decided we wanted another camera. We priced, researched and tested other cameras, but nothing compared to the upgraded Canon Power Shot SD1000. The screen is large enough to see the frame of your shot and the new technology that finds heads is super helpful. A small quirky item that I like is the option to pick what sound your camera makes as it takes the photos. Our favorite is the dog barkinstead of the CLICK camera noise, you can have it go RUFF. (Yes, Im easily amused). The options are easy to navigate through. I can easily tell what the options are without getting out the manual. (the little trash icon, the multiple shots icon, flash on/off icon, etc.) I love technology, but I like it to be easy and helpful. This camera is also easy on your pocket-book. You can get an amazing deal if you plan and watch different ads in print and online. We are happy with the value and the quality of photos that this camera takes.
In the old days, you use to need to purchase a cord, battery, charger and memory stick all separately. Im glad that the industry includes most of those items above in the camera box.
The only slight issue is that when the battery is ready to die--it dies. There is not much warning to let you re-charge if you are at an event, etc.
I have had zero problems with this camera and will continue to use it and cannon products.
