Product Review

Not so wonderful when water is blowing in your face

by   denis44 ,   Jun 17, 2008

Pros:  strong cooling

Cons:  poor quality, extremely retarded drainage

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

Just purchased two days ago.

Fairly strong cooling BUT very poor quality in construction. Had to use tape to keep the cover on as the cheap plastic tabs don't do the job and some were missing.

And despite tilting the a/c at 20 degrees, it does not drain properly even with the drain hole opened. Therefore, it continually blows water (a lot) out of the front of the air vent since the water accumulates on the bottom of the pan with nowhere to go. I guess I can drill some holes in the pan, but that seems to be a bit extreme and causes me to wonder where their engineers were while this was being tested at the lab.

Might call for a tech to service it, but likely will just return this to Home Depot - inferior products, as usual. By the way, if you do get this, realize that it is 20 amp AND 240, not 110... requiring an electrician to hook up properly.
