Sun, Sea & Soothing!

This is the perfect balm for for any stressed, tired soul! You could listen to this anywhere and feel like you have been transported to a beautiful sun-kissed tropical beach. You can almost feel the sun on your face, the warm sand between your toes and hear the surf lapping gently on the shore!

Breakdown With this song Jack Johnson manages to bring his native Hawaii right into your living room. His laid back style in this song is very refreshing in today's busy world and reminds us through the gentleness of his music to stop, breathe and appreciate the simple pleasures in life! This is one of my personal favorites to date.

I also adored Do You Remember which I think will invoke memories of finding 'the one' by the listener, it is a very romantic song about more down to earth lover's trysts rather than the usual candlelit dinner with violins scenario.

Staple It Together will snap you back from your reverie, this is a faster paced song and reminds us not to move through our lives at 100 miles an hour using quick fixes for our problems as the song title suggests..this would only be a temporary solution. This is the only song on the album which Jack Johnson did not solely write the music for, this was written in collaboration with Merlo Podlewski who plays bass on most of songs on the album.

Banana Pancakes is quite quirky but will make you smile as it will remind you of the times you played hooky from work to spend the day doing what YOU wanted to do!

Good People I think is one of Jack Johnson's more recognisable songs and has had lots of air play. I love it's relaxed feel..you almost feel like you are sitting in a jam session with him on this one!

If I Could Is one that obviously comes straight from Jack's heart. This song is sad and poignant but at the same time reminds us that as life ends for some for others it is just beginning...it is a song I think about hope for the future even when the present can seem hopeless.

This album could easily come across as preachy but because of Jack Johnson's gentle approach to the subject matter it instead comes across as wise and intuitive.

If it's feeling good you want then this is the album for you, it will leave you with a smile on your face and a renewed interest for what matters in life!
