Product Review

Required reading for corporate America

by   vitara12 ,   Nov 2, 2003

Pros:  Funny, takes on big business and its provocative.

Cons:  Comes across as a bit socialist in his positions.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

This book is savagely funny but tainted with questionable figures from certain chapters.

However, after reading Mr. Moore's essay on corporate stupidity, I realize that he is truly enjoying himself at the expense of big business.

The chapter called "Why doesn't GM sell Crack?" is very illuminating. Moore makes a case in this chapter for more corporate responsibility to communities where they are based. However, Moore does not take into account the costs that surely are part of his plan to improve america.

He goes after big business and even bashes unions with a fervor not seen in recent years. I enjoyed his piece on relocating the entire governemnt to Mexico. ITs chapters like this that are funny without getting preachy and thankfully, there's more humor than preaching in Moore's book.

Its a good read, but take some areas with a grain of salt.
