Author's Review
I am a huge fan of country music so you are likely to see many more reviews about different country cds and artists. I live right outside of Nashville so how could I not have a heart that is completly country?
Kenny Chesney has one awesome CD here. I bought this for my husband for one of his Christmas gifts, but I think I enjoy it more than he does. It includes 17 great songs that is a collection of Kenny's work over the past 7 years. The cd has 4 awesome color photos of Kenny inside. It does not have the words printed in the cd which I always think is a plus. It came out in 2000 by BNA Records Label. It is a compilation produced by Buddy Cannon, Norro Wilson and Kenny Chesney. Kenny was the co-writer on 4 of these songs. Many of the songs on this cd were a huge hit on the country charts.
Now I would like to tell you a little bit about each song:
I Lost It is about a couple that got married but the responsibilites of life came between them. She ended up walking out on him because she couldn't deal with it. When she came back things were like the never were before. He realized that he couldn't live without her and their love was renewed.
Don't Happen Twice is about not seeing someone in a long time and never forgetting the things they did together. It is about that you don't fall in love like that twice.
The Tin Man is where he wishes that he could give his heart to the tin man so he wouldn't feel his breaking and all of the pain.
Fall in Love is about a watching a couple get married, being in love, looking at a couple that's been together over 50 years and seeing all of that makes you want to fall in love. It's about seeing a match made in heaven and wanting that for yourself.
All I Need to Know is about no matter what happens in "a world where most things come and go" he will always have her to hold. He says that is all he needs to know.
For the First Time is about through through getting together in high school and doing all of the things a first love would do together for the first time. Then it is about breaking up and being alone for the first time, but still smiling when he thinkings of the old love.
Me and You is about a perfect couple, suited perfectly. It is a great love song. It says "Everyday I need you more, there is no way I could ever let you go".
Back Where I come From is recorded live in Dallas, Texas. Kenny says at the start of the song that this is personally one of his favorite songs. This reminds him of growing up in the country in East Tennessee. It talks about sitting on the riverbank, painting your name on the water tank, forgetting the number of beers that you drank, having a black and white tb and singing Amazing Grace.
When I Close My Eyes is about many thinks that he should have said and now it may be too later. Everything he sees reminds him of her. When he closes his eyes she is all that he sees; she is in his dreams.
She's Got it All She has everything that means anything to him: his heart, soul, wishes, hugs, kisses.
That's Why I'm Here is my favorite song on the cd. It is powerful. It is about alcoholism. His wife and kids are the most important things in life, but he lost them because of his drinking. He is struggling to say clean and try to get his family back.
How Forever Feels is about him wanting to know "how forever feels". He has done almost everything in life, but doesn't know how forever feels. It talks about asking someone to marry him.
You Had Me From Hello is a song that many people have played at their wedding. It is about a person that is captivated with someone from the first time they spoke to them.
She Thinks My Tractors Sexy is a goofy song I think, but it was a huge hit for Kenny. It is about life on the farm.
What I Need to Do is about trying to get over someone. He knows he should go back and say he is sorry, but he keeps on going.
Baptism is a duet with Randy Travis. (I love Randy; he is awesome.) It is about being down with the old man and up with the new. It is talking about a baptism down at the river in the country like they used to do in the old days.
Because of Your Love is saying that he is the man he is because of her love. He doesn't know how he lived before her. He knows that he can do anything since he has her.
