The Bonus Tracks are Worth It!

I've heard some people complain that this collection is just a rehash of TMBG's first three albums, but it's much more than that. Sure, the tracks include the full albums They Might Be Giants, Lincoln, and Miscellaneous T, but you also get some gems you won't find anywhere else. The bonus tracks include things previously only heard on Dial-a-Song and at live shows, as well as some demos recorded prior to the first album.

The two show intros, which are prepared tapes used at some of TMBG's early concerts, are works of genius. Both hilarious and haunting. Some of the bonus tracks are odd, including "Become a Robot" and "Weep Day," which plays on an unfortunate hyphenization of "Mr. Tambourine Man" on an old Byrds album cover.

If you have the first three albums, don't fret that this collection isn't worth the price, because it is. With the bonus tracks and the new commentary by the Johns on the early days, this collection is a must-have for any serious Giants fan.
