Freedom in a Box
Date of Review: Dec 10, 1999
The 'Songs of Freedom' Box Set is unquestionably the best musical collection I've owned. I bought it several years ago, and it got robbed along with the rest of my CD collection. I was irate! That CD, which I'd bought for about $40.00 went out of print, became a collectors edition, and is now worth a few hundred dollars, used!
To my relief, the collection has been released again, for around $60.00. Anyone who likes Bob Marley should have this compilation. It has four CD's that play his music chronologically. The first CD has his earliest songs, the fourth, his latest. Some of the songs are rarities. Many you may never have heard of. The least popular songs on the collection are the ones I like best.
This music is put together smoothly, each song leading into the next with precision. Listening to this album brings happiness to any room.
If you are looking for an intro to reggae, or you're a reggae expert, this compilation is a must have. My words can not do justice to how good this music is.
