We live in a walker-friendly city with brick sidewalks. No 4-wheeler would suffice here--it would fall apart within months. We're also both at least 6' tall, so we needed a stroller with high handles. And I knew from my prior two children that we needed a very durable stroller. Spend less than $300, and chances are good you'll be buying another stroller within 2 years.
This stroller is THE BEST for our needs. With the large, pneumatic tires, it's got a very cushy ride and can easily handle the bumps and sudden drops our sidewalks have everywhere. It's easy to steer and has a hand brake for sudden stops (although this is rare for us). The foot brake is well made and easy to use. Reflective tape everywhere makes it safer for us to use at night.
The best feature, in my opinion, is the infant bed option that converts this stroller into a pram for the early months. Our baby was 2 months premature and tiny, and could never have been strapped into a regular seat. We used this stroller as our first-floor cradle, hauling it all over the house with us, and just walking out the front door with her sound asleep, when we wanted to go out.
One word of caution: this stroller weights a lot. A lot. Did I say a lot? I mean a LOT. I can barely lift it to get it into my car. It's also very difficult to fold, and doesn't fold down very small (we can't fit it into the trunk of our Cadillac CTS.) Don't buy this stroller is you're going to have to lift it and fold it every time you use it. It sits in our front hall, fully assembled. If you want a great city stroller that you "park" when you're done, this is perfect. If you need to fold it down and put it away, keep looking. (We have a Bumbleride Flyer for the trunk of our car and love it for travel.)
