Zojirushi NS-TGC18 rice cooker

I bought this rice cooker because of the claims of perfect rice every time. I have followed the instructions explicitly and have not had perfect rice yet. It takes nearly two hours to cook brown rice. The rice comes out either mushy or sticky. I have tried using it for wild rice and had the same results. I have not tried it for white rice. On the up side, it is pretty easy to use. The instructions were a little confusing at first, but once you get them figured out, it is easy. Clean up is easy, too. However, you do have to remove the inner lid for cleaning each time. It is removed by pulling on a rubber tab that tends to stretch as you pull on it. It seems that it would be just a matter of time before it wears out. Overall, my impression of this rice cooker is that it is not worth the money I paid for it. I have a cheap little steamer/rice cooker that cooks in half the time and with much better results. Not only is this machine overpriced, but the claim of quality is much overstated. I also thought I was buying a Japanese product. Instead I see the all too common words, "Made in China," on my machine. Maybe this explains the problem?
