How to make lots of dough$$$

Date of Review: Dec 11, 2000

This process is so easy I could not believe it myself. To learn about how you too can make lots of dough keep reading on...

Ha got you hooked, now that you are here, you may as well finish. Yes, you will learn how to make lots of dough but how to make lots of bread too.

To do this you must buy the ZOJIRUSHI HOME BAKERY Traditional BBCC-V20. It set me back about $139.00 but I figure after about 200 loaves of bread, batches of jam or whatever, it will pay for itself. My wife and kids really love fresh bread and the wife was the one who actually bought the thing but guess who had to figure it out?

I guess first you are asking just what can this thing do:

*Basic Breads-It has a basic function using active dry yeast that takes 3.5 hours from start to finish and a quick function using rapid rise yeast that cuts about an hour and a half off the time.

*Whole Grain- basic and quick

*Dough's - For just about anything from croissants, pizzas and pretzels

*Jam - Strawberry, apple or just about whatever you can dream up

*Cake/Sandwich/Homemade

The directions to make all of these items are very simple and the easy to read/follow instructions are included in the box.

There was supposed to be a video but as usual it was missing. I always seem to get an item that has something missing. Ref my scanner epinion.

OK now just what kinds of functions does this breadmaker have that sets it above the rest?

*Homemade and Quick settings for your tastes

*Cake and Jam settings

*Auto shut off when lid is opened

*Programmable timer that lets you delay baking by up to 13 hours

*Crust control function lets you decide between light, medium, or dark crust

*Viewing Window

There are only three removable components that allows the unit to be cleaned easily provided you followed the instructions.

The instructions booklet once again is very easy to read and starts off with the basics such as components safety etc then goes into cooking and finally ends in the troubleshooting guide that should answer most questions.

I have had no problems with this unit yet and as long as I have followed the directions relatively close, the items I have cooked have been fantastic. Anytime I have tried to get a "little" creative is when things have gotten a little sticky.

Ok, a few of you have requested me to explain what the sticky messes have been when I got creative. First, all as long as I have followed the directions outlined in the manual I have had no problems. I do like to add more ingredients or make completely new variations on what strikes my fancy. In one case I tried to make banana bread but put a few too many bananas and it turned into more of a "banana goo" bread than what I normally am accustomed to.
