I just bought a Palm Zire 31 for my dad. He told my that he wanted a MP3 player and he also wanted a chess computer. So, I thought about getting him a PDA. I looked for the least expensive PDA that had an MP3 player built into it. So, I found the Palm Zire 31. I myself have a Palm Zire 72s and I'm extremely happy with it.
The Palm Zire 31 is a decent pda for someone who just wants to stay organized and play a few games or so. The screen is smaller than my Zire 72, but it is color. The one thing that I don't like about the zire 31's screen is that it can be hard to read small text. It's kind of blurry and you can see the pixels on the screen.
The processor is slower than my Zire 72 and when you load something, you see the page flicker onto the next page which is a little annoying.
If you want a powerful PDA that can run big games and you want to use this everyday then I'd recommend looking at other PDAs such as the Palm Zire 72s.
Other than that, I'd say it's a good PDA. It has a nice MP3 player and can play a variety of games.
So, if you're looking for a small PDA that can keep you organized and still have some fun and you don't want to spend a lot of money, then the Palm Zire 31 is good for you.
