Tastes like Crap, but It Works.

Well, it looks like it’s that time of year again, when the doctors are going to get rich off of everybody. You know when you wake up in the morning and you have that scratchy throat and runny nose and you know that you’re just going to feel like crap all the rest of the day. The next thing you know, by the evening time you have the sniffles, itchy eyes, and sneezing. Your eyes are watering and you just know that you are going to feel like crap the next morning. I was getting tired of that feeling so I went to Walgreens and tried to find some kind of new medicine. I usually take Tylenol cold and flu medicine, but that usually is a waste of money. So I saw this stuff called Zicam, multi-symptom cold and flu medicine. I figured that if I was going to waste my money on something, it was going to be some kind of a new product.

Description
This comes in a red, yellow, and white box. This medicine comes in a daytime and a night time dosages. Inside of the box you will find six portable single dose spoons. Each spoon is individually sealed, you cannot tear then you have to cut them open with a pair of scissors. This is good for our safety, that way nobody can be tampering with the liquid inside the spoon. Once you cut the package open you will find a spoon inside that you will peel back the outside of it and you could put it inside of a drink or you can take it as is if you wish. Each individual package has all the drug facts and uses and warnings and directions on each one that way you can dispose of the packaging were done with each individuals spoon. Having it dispensed this way eliminates the possibility of you catching somebody else’s cold or flu, or somebody else’s germs.

How to Use And What It Taste Like
Each package has the directions written on it so that way, if you forget how to use this, you always have somewhere to look for the directions. These packs are nice. They are portable so that you could take them in your purse or your pocket and not have to worry about spilling it all over the place. Even if you throw the box in the garbage. They recommend that you only take as directed. You can take it just the way it is by itself. If you like the taste something that really taste bad things go ahead, if you were brave enough. It says on the box that it is virtually tasteless well the box lied. This does not taste good at all by itself. If you put it in water and take still just as bad. The best thing that you can to is mix this in to a glass of tea, it takes edge off of it. This does taste a lot better when you mix it in a glass of tea or some other hot beverage. Whatever the beverage is be it hot or cold tea juice or soda makes it for 30 seconds or until you feel that it is blended in properly. You have to take all of the medicine for this to act properly in your system, which means licking all of this medicine off of this spoon, I know that it tastes bad. Make sure that you throw away the old spoon, and the rest of the protective wrapper, that way no other people get a hold of this. I use this once every four hours, and by the next morning, I was feeling much better. They recommend that you do not take more than six of these in a 24-hour period.

I purchased this from Walgreens, for $8.99 plus tax. I noticed that just about any drugstore will sell this. You also can buy it from Wal-Mart and Kmart, CVS, Meijer’s, or at your local grocery store in the medicine isle’s. They usually run the same price from store to store.

What to Use This for
This is called a multi-symptom cold and flu medicine, if you need it for a pain reliever, it will reduce the fever and act on nasal decongestant, it also has antihistamines and a cough suppressant. Plus. It also contains and acetaminophen. it will also help if you have minor aches and pains, runny nose, sore throat. If you have sore muscles, watery eyes, sneezing. This will also help in these areas to.

Warnings
I do not want to get into this area too much but I feel it my responsibility since I’m telling you about it that I should tell you that there are several warnings on the outside of the box that you should know about. This is that it may cause excitability especially in children. Also of course be careful when driving a motor vehicle and do not take this with alcohol sedatives or tranquilizers may cause drowsiness. And of course, if this does not work after 24 hours then you have to go see a doctor. One of the most important warning, so I can tell is that if you are pregnant or breast-feeding do not use is consult your doctor.

Ingredients
There are not too many active ingredients in this stuff. I’ll try and let you know, how much is in each spoonful. There is 650 mg of acetaminophen, which is for the pain reliever and fever reducing. And four milligrams for the antihistamine, plus 20 mg for the cough suppressant, and 10 mg for the nasal decongestant.
There are a few in active ingredients, and they are citric acid, glycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose, polyethylene glycol, potassium chloride, propylene glycol, purified water, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium citrate, sucralose.

Overall Recommendation
I would highly recommend this to anyone that would like to try something new and over-the-counter. This saves you from paying a doctor and wasting your time to go in and see him. You do not have to pay anybody a co-payment of any kind. Usually when you go into the doctors the next day you still are not feeling good and you have to miss the day at work. With this stuff, at least you feel good enough to go back to work the very next day. I took this stuff and within 24 hours I was feeling a heck of a lot better than the day before. On a scale of one to 10, I would rate this as a 9.5 until something else comes along.
