I like Zicam, just not in this form

I have been a Zicam user for about a year now. Everyone in my family just looks at me and laughs when I use it, but I get sick A LOT. I sometimes feel like I have no immune system whatsoever. Anyway, I usually take the nasal swabs, but wanted to try the throat spray since I had a very itchy irritated throat this time. What a mistake! I got out into my car and started dosing immediately. It has you spray 4-5 squirts into your mouth making sure to get the roof of mouth, inside of cheeks, tongue and gums.You are to hold it in your mouth for 15 seconds and then swallow. So I did. The taste is tolerable......at first. Reminded me of the listerine tingle I get. Ultimately I was fine until my second dose, my mouth had a very strong tingling this time.
Even after I had ate dinner with my family the strong, almost painful, stinging continued. I reluctantly took my third dose. 15 minutes later my mouth felt as if I had swished battery acid around as a mouthwash. I brushed my teeth twice, and drank tons of water trying to get the stinging sensation in my mouth to go away. To no avail. I started getting a lot of saliva producing in my mouth also. As if my mouth was trying to heal itself or rinse itself out or just plain reacting to my putting a something terrible into it.

So I went to bed and I am not kidding you when I tell you I could not sleep because the stinging in my mouth was so very strong. I had brief moments when I thought of going to my doctor first thing in the morning. Well, I finally fell asleep and by the next morning my mouth felt much better, HOWEVER, I got a small canker sore like lesion inside my right cheek that still hurt. It did not hurt much by the end of the day, and I still had all of my cold symptoms. Probably because I only got the three doses.

I will still use Zicam, just not the spray. I dont really know if Zicam works for me or not because I always end up getting the cold. But who knows, the symptoms may be worse if I had not used it at all.

I don't know if I had an allergic reaction or what, but I just wanted to let everyone know what happened to me. I know it was just mouth stinging, but imagine the worst mouth stinging you have ever felt. Imagine how your mouth might feel if you were to swallow some battery acid. This is similar to what it felt like to me.
