Line of Sight Issue

Just got the 36" stainless version installed and have not used it yet (no cooktop yet) but already have an issue with height and how far out the unit extends because it basically gets in the way of the cook.

Installing the unit flush with the front of a standard 12" deep upper cabinet means the front of the hood is about 22" forward from the wall. The instructions say optimum height is 26" to 27" from counter. Following this standard layout puts the front bottom corner of the unit 5'2" to 5'3" high and extending almost as far forward as the front of the cooktop/rang. For any person near 6' tall, this hood will get between their head and the cooktop, messing up their view of and their access to the things on the cooktop(can't lean forward much). Even with the max allowed height above the cooktop (30") this could be an issue for must average height to taller guys.

I think the standard layout of this unit is flawed or, at minimum, this issue should be pointed out and disclaimed in their layout guide. Even the standard photo of this product is misleading because it shows a clear view of the underside of the hood. You would never see the unit from this angle if it was installed per specs, unless, of course, you very short or crouched down.

From what I can see, most other units that install at similar heights to this one, do not extend so far forward and thus would not be in the way like this one. This seems to be a problem somewhat unique to this product.
