Top notch rap album

by   animal2b ,  May 10, 2005
Pros: A serious hip hop album worth owning.
Cons: I had to wait so long for it to come out.
The Bottom Line: A serious hip hop album that is better than most hip hop that plays on the radio today. It's loud, it's real and it's GOOD.
Review: A lot of people think the John Cena you see on Smackdown! is a character or a gimmick. It's not and he proves it with this album. Be warned that this isn't some WWE publicity deal, 'hey look, a wrestler cut a cd" - it's not about bodyslams or wrestling - ...

Note to Hip-Hop World: The Champ Is Here

by   PacManY2J , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Aug 23, 2005
Pros: great lyrics and beats; zero filler
Cons: a couple weaker tracks
The Bottom Line: A surprisingly solid hip-hop album
Review: Over the past few years, professional wrestlers have been branching out into other fields and proving themselves more multi-dimensional than anyone would have believed. The Rock's making movies, Chris Jericho has a rock band with a strong following, and ...

You Can't See Me: The lesson in Basic Thuganomics with instructor John Cena

by   bigd99999 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  May 15, 2005
Pros: John Cena and Trademarc's relentless flow, excellent rhyming skills, and charisma; wonderous production
Cons: A handful of weaker tracks; needs a bit more depth
The Bottom Line: His Time is Now... DO NOT SLEEP!
Review: On April 3rd, John Cena realized his dream by laying out champion John Bradshaw Layfield with his patented finisher the F-U and becoming the World Wrestling Entertainment Champion. His time... is now. Ever since 2003, John Cena has adapted a ...

Cena and Trademarc educate Hip-Hop with their 'Basic Thuganomics' on "You Can't See Me"

by   mcheadcase ,  Jun 22, 2005
Pros: Trademarc and Cena's suprisingly dope lyricism, rugged production, diversity in topics.
Cons: A handfull of weaker tracks, too much braggadocio, no guest verse from Matt Hardy.
The Bottom Line: Read the review
Review: As much as I love both worlds, Hip-Hop and pro wrestling do not mix. Oh sure, don’t get me wrong, it has succeeded in some points, such as the WWE's (formally WWF) rap compilation album "WWF Aggression", an album containing rap versions of ...

Great album

by   glennasrick ,  Jan 12, 2009
Pros: Great album for a wrestler.
Cons: That he has yet to come out with another!
The Bottom Line: Get this one!
Review: It's easy to dismiss athletes who claim to be musicians, particularly if said jocks are professional wrestlers. But World Wrestling Entertainment grappler John Cena's recording debut, YOU CAN'T SEE ME, is an impressive foray into the world of hip-hop. ...

WWE's Own John Cena's You Can't See Me: He's A Bad, Bad Man

by   roheblius ,  May 11, 2005
Pros: John Cena is having fun and it shows.
Cons: Cena's flow can be clumsy at times.
The Bottom Line: John Cena and The Trademarc have fun with the mic on You Can't See Me.
Review: John Cena stands at the "Gorilla" position, waiting for his theme music to hit. Once it does, the crowd will erupt. The horns blaze, looped together to make the crowd manic. Cena comes through the curtain, puts his fists together though leaving the ...

Trying To See New Things When Everything's The Same (Indecisive W/O)

by   snik1 ,  Nov 14, 2005
Pros: They can describe and help you with what they understand, has flavor
Cons: Unsteady; concepts need to be more original
The Bottom Line: Bottom Line's are for people who make decisions.
Review: The dimensions of hip-hop artists vary so much that blaming someone or writing someone off for being different is as impractical as stereotyping hip hop as a bunch of noise. Punchliners/comedy rap, emotional, complex, simplistically mindless ...
