Wear Your Baby with an Ella Roo!
Date of Review: May 14, 2004
The Bottom Line: The wrap is highly recommended. You may feel odd at first, but if you practice the tying, you'll be a pro! It gets easier and your baby will be comfortable
What a beautiful wrap carrier! I am in just awe of my "sling". Not only beautiful, but so functional. I get comments whenever we wear it, people are just amazed :) If you go to ellaroo.com, the one I purchased is the Ysabel color.
How does it work?
There are very many different ways to tie a long sling. In some way, you're going to wrap it around you, probably criss cross and just tie it. You really don't have to be coordinated :) If you check the website above, you'll find pictures of different ways to do so. There are hip carrying positions, front carrying for both the newborn and older child, back carrying positions and variations of each. I tend to use the front and hip carry.
What does the wrap look like?
The Ella Roo comes in different lengths for different body types and sizes. You would choose which one would be best for you. It is 30 inches in width and at the ends are tassels. It is a light weight fabric, perfect for wrapping and tying. There are many different colors and patterns to choose from. They are absolutely stunning.
What else you should know..
The Ella Roo can be used from newborn to toddler (heck, even preschooler if you don't mind carrying). This isn't the snugli that you pay a lot of money for and you could only use it a few months. This is going to be around for years and most likely through a few children. The quality is excellent. My only regret is not getting one when my son was a newborn. I love the cross cradle hold. Keeps strangers hands off of baby ;) Another important benefit to this carrier is that your child's weight can be distributed evenly over your shoulders and you'll be less likely to feel any strain or pain if used correctly.
