The Bottom Line: A great game. Though lacking in hardcore player content, future patches help to make it more challenging and rewarding.
The World of Warcraft franchise has taken the online gaming world by storm. With the original title, followed up by the first expansion, 'The Burning Crusade', Wrath ofthe Lich King guarantees a more pleasurable playing experience. New content is added, including a new playable character class, a new zone to explore, along with a large amount of gear and dungeons to run, you're guaranteed to forget about life's issues as you explore and take on the Lich King's forces.
The level cap has been increased from 70 to 80 to accommodate the new ares. The leveling experience to 80 is guaranteed to be both frustrating and rewarding.
Player versus Player content has been completely revamped and offers more opportunity for Horde and Alliance players to take a stand against the other faction.
Horde and Alliance players are separate from the starting Northrend zones in order to be able to meet up in the larger and higher leveled zones and battle grounds.
Several achievements allow players a chance to obtain rare flying and ground mounts that can be used as a way to show off their dedication to the game to other players of the same faction, or to incite fear into members of the opposing faction.
The new Death Knight class allows players the chance to create a character loyal to the Lich King himself, and to participate in the coup de tat of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, becoming a separated group from the Lich King, allowing them to rejoin their original faction, Horde or Alliance.
After having played WoW from start to current, I can atest to the fact that millions of people from the world play the game. You're guaranteed to meet people you'll come to value as friends, and possibly meet up with people you'll talk to outside of the game.
