Not that kind of Working Girl!

Melanie Griffith's one masterpiece performance is in this very funny and heart warming film, Working Girl. Tess (Melanie Griffith) is determined to make it out of the secretarial pool and into the business world. The road is hard and filled with obstacles, but Tess is bound and determined.

Her number one obstacle becomes her boss, Sigourney Weaver. Weaver tricks Tess into believing her and trusting her. When Tess reveals her idea for a big client, Weaver promptly plots to steal her idea and claim it for her own.

Weaver, fortunately, has a skiing accident and Tess gets her chance to impersonate Weaver and complete her plan. Weaver returns, but the wheels are already in motion and Tess gets the upper hand.

Of course, there is a love interest in this sweet tale. Harrison Ford is superb as Griffith's love interest. Alec Baldwin makes a cameo appearance as Griffith's boyfriend that has to left in order for Griffith's character to obtain her goals.

Look for some more interesting characters in this tale. Joan Cusack is incredible as the quirky secretary friend. Kevin Spacey also show up in this film as a sleazy boss trying to make the moves on Tess.

Mike Nichols directs this wonderful film. It is a lovely romantic comedy and one of Griffith's best films and performances. A driving theme song by Carly Simon, Let the River Run, really adds to the overall good feeling this film leaves you. Working Girl is a great fun film and one that the entire family can enjoy.
