Cheap and helpful
Date of Review: Apr 21, 2000
There's nothing better than a cheap, easy to read magazine that actually helps you improve your life while providing enjoyment. That's what I have found with Woman's Day.
I subscribe to several magazines. Some are great, some are okay. But, Woman's Day has never disappointed me. Each issue comes packed with good information and is organized and presented in an easy to read format using bullets, colors, etc. to break up the sections.
The magazine usually contains the following sections:
Solutions: Here you will find exactly what the section title says. For instance, you'll find timesavers - for the kitchen, for cleaning, for entertaining, etc. There are always articles for bargain hunting, saving money and stretching your dollars, as well as stress and relaxation tips. A great regular feature, "Woman at the Wheel", provides relevant automotive information for those of us who aren't particularly savvy where cars are concerned.
Health: This section usually contains quite a few different articles about improving your overall health. There's the feature "WD Checkup" that covers relevant health issues such as asthma, depression, menopause, etc. Risk factors, vitamins, drugs...you name it, they cover it.
Diet and Exercise: What magazine would be complete without a section on dieting? This section is not large, but it is informative. But, you don't have to look at emaciated models that make you want to smack them.
Other areas Woman's Day covers includes gardening, "Words of Wisdom" from women in all walks of life, true stories, "To Make" craft-making section, and of course, recipes. For you parents, there is a "kid's day" section, also.
Woman's Day is a magazine that you can pick up at any time and find relevant information in a snap. The articles are informative, but short and to the point, which is so important for those of us who really don't have a lot of time to spare for reading. I subscribe to this magazine for about $10 for 12 issues, and the cover price ranges from $1.49 to $1.69. Very reasonable for what you get. You won't be disappointed.
