terrible product from an unresponsive company

In a moment of temporary insanity, one family member ordered this ridiculous contraption, but quickly regained their faculties and cancelled the order.

They were billed anyway.
Contacting the distributor was very difficult and painful.
Naturally those efforts produced no refund in any case.

So then the distributor shipped the product anyway, and claimed that they had never received the cancellation.

Fortunately, that had been sent via registered mail. Since payment was via credit card, we disputed the charge with the bank.

 A great deal of paperwork was exchanged over a period of about four months. Much time was wasted.

The item was returned, but the company never issued a refund.

We know someone who actually made two attempts to grow tomatoes with this thing. One could say that (1) a mess was made (2) more time and effort was wasted.

 You will have better results in a raised bed or in the garden with some chicken wire to keep the pests away. For that matter, it’s probably OK if the ‘pests’ get a few anyway.

In the end, the credit card company reversed the original charge, and mentioned that the company is being sued by various consumer friendly attorneys-general.

Stay away, and try to watch less TV so that you are not exposed to this type of awful product.
