no better than growing in a pot

I purchased one of these to see if they would be better than trying to grow them in a 15-gallon pot.  I must say that I have never had luck growing tomatoes in containers, they need watered twice a day - and I live in Wisconsin, where daytime summer temps rarely go over 90 - and because of all the watering, the soil loses a lot of micro-nutrients, causing blossom-end rot on nearly all the fruits.  It appeared in the ads that their plants did not have this problem, so I tried it.  What a disappointment!  I had the same problems, only worse, with the pot hanging upside-down 2 feet over my head.  The plant wilted every day, set very few fruits, and the ones that did grow all had the same blossom-end rot as the other containers.  From now on, I'm only planting in the ground.  The soil borne diseases and insects that come with in-ground planting can be controlled a whole lot easier than trying to grow anything in those planters.  Just mulch the ground with grass clippings, straw, or red plastic, and use organic pest control or pick the bugs off by hand.  It's still WAY less labor-intensive than container gardening.
