Waste of time and money!

The Bottom Line: This unit is not worth the money, do not get fooled by its great looks!
After researching for a portable, I decided to get this unit because 1) the stainless steel and 2) several 5-star ratings. Although I noticed there were some 1-star reviews as well, I figured perhaps just a few unlucky customers? Well, guess what? I'm now one of the unlucky ones. Paid approx $425 for the unit and pretty much got myself a big headache.
First of all, the unit is extremely loud! I have a small bedroom and the noise just echoes in my room. There is no way I can carry on a conversation when the unit is on, not to mention a good night sleep.
Most importantly, no cold air! Yes, there was somewhat cool air being pushed out, but you have to stand within a foot to feel it. I would expect an air conditioner to act like an air conditioner, or is my expectation too high? You be the judge. In a 200 sq.ft room, with only one window (facing south), the unit ran for 4 hours from 6~10pm and cooled it from 87 degrees down to 85. When I finally went to bed, is was cooler (and much quieter) to open the window and turn on my $15 fan.
Contacted the manufacture and went through a whole bunch of trouble shooting. In the end, I was told there is nothing wrong; and to use a fan to help "distribute" the cold air. Well, tried that and only felt fan air blowing in my face and still sweating in my little bedroom.
Good thing the company I purchased from (brilliant) accepted my return...less this and that charge, I got rid of the expensive fan. Unfortunately, I'm back in the market for another portable (since our apt do not allow window units). I think this time I will go and check out units in person.
