Author's Review

First let me recap the full title of the book.

"Who's Afraid of Schrodinger's Cat? - All the New Science Ideas You Need to Keep Up with the New Thinking"

I first came across this title as a random recommendation through Amazon. One of the things I like to do is challenge myself to read books on a whim that I would not normally read.

I have a good grasp of a lot of scientific and technological principles but over time have become concentrated on specific area's and as such I have heard of some things but not had the time to research them in depth.

This book is a fantastic way to get the gist of a lot of modern concepts without having to fully study anyone particular topic. Don’t get me wrong its not an all encompassing knowledge base but the next time someone mentions black hole theory you will have a little more understanding.

The book covers a huge number of topics ranging from cold fusion to quantum theories of the mind. It presents a basic layman’s summary of two or three pages on the topic. Each is presented in a clear explanation, which gives you a feel for the nature of the topic, some of which have encouraged me to research in more detail.

I read this book on occasion I will pick it up every couple of days randomly pick a topic and read from there. The book is organized in such a way that it will reference related topics allowing you to appreciate and follow the association of some of the concepts.
