Paid For Itself On Day 1

This is my 2nd detector from Whistler. The 1st was good, but the XTR-690SE is amazing. The ability to see the Ka band frequency is invaluable. Being able to know if the signal is false or a real threat is a savior.  Also, the flashing lights on top are attention grabbers, too.

Whistler certainly doesn't have the fit and finish of a Passport or Beltronics, but for the money, you can't go wrong. I will say this model is much more substantial, in terms of button functionality and construction, then my 1793se. My 1793se lasted about 3 years, I'm expecting a longer life than that from this model.
