NOT ENOUGH WATER!!!
Date of Review: Sep 18, 2006
The Bottom Line: I can't see any reason a "normal Mom" would be interested in this machine. Had I known what I know now, NO WAY!!
Why can't manufacturers give us what we want!!!??
I HATED my old GE washer & couldn't wait for it to die so I could get a new one. It was only 3 yrs old & I didn't realize when I bought it that even tho the lid was up....it still would cycle. I would start the machine filling with water, then, as I'm in the kids room picking up left-over clothes, phone would ring, get side-tracked, etc., next thing I knew I would hear it empty out the water, so I'm doing the 50 yard dash down my hallway to stop it.
I explained my concern in the store & was ASSURED 100% by the salesman (Whirlpool themselves too as I called to check) that this washer would not cycle or empty as long as the hood was up. Sure, that's because it has a lock on the lid & it DOES NOT fill with water to start with!!! There's no agitator which I thought was GREAT & then later told that this machine is actually a FRONT LOAD machine, only it loads on the top, so that's why there's limited water. Fine for people who have limited water supply, but I have TONS of water.
I wanted a nice washer that FILLS UP with water & you could let soak - & without the agitator too "would be a nice extra". So WHIRLPOOL if you're listening...there's my suggestion!!!
Now my problem is the store won't take this washer back as it's "used". Well it wouldn't have been "used" if the salesman had told me the whole story of the machine in the first place, I would have picked something else!!
