Overall a Good Dishwasher

I bought this dishwasher to replace my 21 year old previous Whirlpool. We plan to rip out the entire kitchen in a few years to remodel, so I was not interested in a really high end machine that was going to reside in our kitchen only a short time. I chose this model over the Consumer Report pick DU1055 because of the Power Scour feature, lower energy consumption, and because I could get free delivery on it. We have had it for about a month and have been very happy. It's one of the louder models out there (61 decibels), but comparatively to our old dishwasher whisper quiet. You can have a conversation in the same room without having to raise your voice, and we don't need to crank up the volume on the TV in the next room.
Cleaning is pretty impressive. The only time I have pulled dishes out that were still dirty, they were packed too tightly. The Power Scour option is awesome. It's a set of extra jets at the back of the lower rack. You face any heavily soiled items like casserole pans toward them. During the regular wash cycle these dishes get blasted by the extra jets. It works amazingly well and doesn't add much extra time to the cycle.
Some people don't like the Whirlpool silverware basket in the door. At first I wasn't wild about it either, but I'm used to it now. It still isn't as large as other silverware baskets, but it has been sufficient for our family of four needs.
