A big disappointment

I read several review sites and I always respect Consumer Reports. After my research, I decided on this dishwasher. After almost a year, it has been a big disappointment in a few key areas: 1. the silverware/cutlery rack is way too small. It always fills up much more quickly than the rest of the dishwasher. We don't have many dishes and only run the machine every 3-4 days, so I end up washing forks and spoons by hand. Then on an occasion of a large dinner for 10-15 people, the dishwasher has plenty of room for everything but the silverware. 2. Many times the powdered dishwasher soap gets "stuck" in the dispenser, hardens into a solid mass, and remains in the dispenser, even if the dispenser lid does open. I have tried several remedies such as making sure the dispenser is dry when filled with the powder, but I still get this problem sometimes. 3. The soap dispenser lid lever is an extremely delicate plastic piece. If this breaks, the dishwasher is unusable. Summary: the dozens of bells and whistles on this machine don't amount to much when the soap doesn't dispense and the silverware is continually too crowded. One positive point: it is extremely quiet to run.
