Pros:
Nice sized, attractive, lots of storage space, versatile, easy clean
Cons:
Fan died, but was easily fixed, new fans are better, light goes out a lot.
The Bottom Line:
This is a big investment, but it is the kind of fridge you expect to keep for years.

Author's Review
We came in to some money a couple of years ago and we needed a new refrigerator. Since my wife cooks a lot and buys a lot of food I wanted to get something really nice. I also wanted something with a filtered water, and ice dispenser. We looked at several different refrigerators and in the end wound up going with the Whirlpool GS6NBEXRB, it was not cheap, and in fact cost us about $1700.00 in total, but it is a nice looking fridge, and seems to be working well.
The Whirlpool GS6NBEXRB, is a 36" side by side refrigerator/freezer, ours is black on black but you can also get stainless. The freezer is a frost free freezer, it makes ice cubes and you can choose between crushed or whole. It also has a filtration system that filter all the bad stuff out of your water, this was very important to us as the water in our town is not very tasty, they claim it is safe, but I feel better having the filter. It makes the water taste about 100 times better than it does coming right out of the tap. There is also an option to turn the ice maker and water maker off, so if you have a little one who likes to push the buttons you can lock it so they can not. If you like you can turn a light on in case you want to get a drink in the middle of the night.
There are 3 shelves inside of the fridge and a vegetable and crisper drawer as well as a small deli drawer in the middle. There are several different slots inside and you can choose how high, low or seperated you want your shelves.
The freezier has one top shelf and then 3 baskets that pull out, my wife liked this feature as she thought it would be easy to pull out the baskets to see what is in back. The door area on the freezer is kind of small. There is one section where you can't fit more than a couple of skinny buritoes. But the basket space is very good.
It also has five wide shelves on the side of the rerigerator, they are more like holders, and can easily be pulled out and washed.
As far as far as the technical feature go they are as follows:
ENERGY STAR(R) Qualified
Contoured Door Design
SideWise(TM) Electronic Controls with Pulse Defrost
In-Door-Air(R) Door Cooling System
Accu-Chill(TM) Temperature Management System
Enhanced Interior Lighting
Extra Wide Adjustable Slide-Out SpillGuard(TM) Glass Shelves
Clear Humidity-Controlled Crisper
Clear Temperature-Controlled Convertible Meat Pan
Clear Snack Bin
2 EZ-Tote(R) Door Bins
2 Tilt-Out Freezer Door Bins
Satina(TM) Stainless Look Finish Available
2 Tall Freezer Baskets
In-Door-Ice(R) Ice Dispensing System
Integrated Can Rack
Full-Length Door Handles
Filtration System
Filter Indicator Light
Fast Fill Technology
Slide-Out Dispenser Tray
Rotating Faucet
Measured Fill
The water dispensor has fast fill technology which is really nice it only takes about 30 seconds to fill up a pitcher. It is not quite as fast as the sink but pretty darn close.
Te door handles are quite long and ther is a little gold detailing (well gold looking), that adds to the refrigrators attractiveness.
For people who may need this information for what ever purpose the fridge has:
Volts: 115
Amps: 15
Hertz: 60
The fridge comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, but because we made such a large investment in this fride we purchased the longest warranty available and that was a 4 year warranty for $89.99. We have used it with no problem a couple of times, and I will explain why later.
So far the fridge has been pretty nice, but we have had some issues. The light inside the refrigerator has had to be replaced a couple of times in a little over 2 years.
Recently the fan in the freezer died. We call and they came out and fixed it the next day which was good. The repairman told my wife that the newer ones now have a better fan, so if you get a new one you should not have this problem. The bottom shelf area that holds the lower crisping door cracked a little bit, but that was my wife's fault and she will fully admit that, she tried to push it in even though it was not in the proper place.
The filter I have to say is pretty long lasting, we have just replaced the first one. So they last quite a while. When we had the fan replaced the guy also replaced the filter for us and did not charge us anything to do so. You don't have to be a repairman to change the filter, anyone can do it, and it is clearly explained in the owners manual how to do it, but you do need to order the filter from the company. We just had good timeing with ours and we were able to have repairman bring one and replace it for us.
The doors are black and shiny so if you have dirty fingertips and touch it they do show up, but it cleans off very easily. The inside of the fridge is also easy to clean as everything comes out really easily and is not difficult to put back in.
Over all we have been very happy with our fridge. It did have that one major problem, but as I said it was fixed really quickly and we now have a new designed fan, that should last for many years.
This is not a cheap fridge by any means. This is the kind of fridge that you buy if you plan on staying in your house for a long time which we do, this is also the kind of fridge you would probably consider taking with you if you move. This is a very nice attractive, roomy, nicely thought out fridge. At this price though you might want to invest in the extended warranty. Over all though it has been great and we have been very happy with it.
