Big capacity! Cleans really well!

The Bottom Line: We needed a Dishwasher that would do large loads of dishes, use minimum amount of water to do it.
We purchased this dishwasher to replace a Maytag dishwasher which had a recall due to a fire hazard. The Maytag was almost 10 years so we just decided to replace it. It cleaned well but didn't want to wait for service to come and do the upgrade.
This Whirlpool dishwasher is great! We got the black to match the decor in our kitchen. It is a tall tub dishwasher and holds lots of dishes. You can load this DW anyway you want and everything still comes out clean. It has a POTS/POTS, NORMAL, LIGHT and RINSE/HOLD. Options include HI-TEMP WASH, SANI-RINSE and NO HEAT DRYING. This DW also has temperture sensor to insure the water is always at the correct temp. It uses cycles light to show progress of the cycle. It also has a clean indicator light.
For most loads we use the Normal w/Hi-Temp wash and heated dry. It usually takes about and hour or so including drying time to wash a full load of dishes. The DW is somewhat quiet but not super noisy either. If you use POTS/PANS or SANI-Rinse option you can expect a longer cycle time.
I installed it myself and was very easy to do. Just follow the instructions to the letter.
The only problem we have had with this DW is the clip which locks the silverware basket door broke. Whirlpool is replacing it under warranty. The silverware basket can be placed on the door or on the bottom rack.
I think we will get several good year from this DW.
