Author's Review
I bought this dryer last fall after my faithful 20 year old dryer had dried its last. I am a little nervous about the electronics going bad. My last dryer had been easy for my husband to fix quite a few times in the last 8 years before it finally died. So far I've had no problems, but I am wondering what the repair bill will be if I ever do have any.
Now, in all fairness to this dryer, I can fit so many clothes in my washer that some pretty big loads are going in. My first thought when I used the dryer is that it just takes forever. My old dryer must have gotten much hotter.
The machine is easy to use. I have a hard time finding a happy medium in how dry the clothes are. If it is set at medium dry, things are damp. If it is set at high dry, I can usually shut it off early and they are dry. My girlfriend only uses the timed dry because of this, but I would be guessing there, too.
Maybe the problem is with the sensor. I know that the timer will say it only has 5 minutes till the clothes are dry and the machine will run for another 35 minutes. I usually set it on heavy duty, which gives you an estimate of 50 minutes. My washer and dryer are upstairs and I have gotten used to not counting on a quick was and dry, so I haven't even timed it to have an estimate of how long it usually runs. I am sure it is often 1 1/2 hours.
On the plus side, this thing is huge. I've dried hockey equipment and other large items in here with some success.
As far as comforters, even on the bulky setting, I have to take the comforters out and shake them around then shove them back in and restart the machine.
I've only had 2 dryers in my adult life. I suppose this one is fine, but nothing I am overly excited about
