Buyer beware
Date of Review: Aug 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: I will never recommend another Whirlpool. They do not stand behind their product, and I have spent in repairs what I paid for the machine.
Whirlpool does not stand behind its product.
This $1000+ machine of mine has had hundreds of dollars in repairs which I can provide proof of, and still does not work right. They will not be accountable for their product, they have three times lost their data on me to reimburse for the last repairs, and will not return correspondence from me. I sent them a four page typed letter with detailed information of the repairs and problems I have had and am having on their machine, with the corresponding repair tickets enclosed, and no one even responded.
The washer leaked water from the first run, but they insisted it just needed repaired (brand new). It has been repaired for water leaks four times now. The seal, dispenser tube, pump, front control panel, drain hose, heating element, drum vein, and rear control board have been replaced since my ownership. Their integrity as a company is lacking, and I am over two months waiting for reimbursement from my last $400 in repairs. I have paid in repairs what I paid for the machine.
I am still awaiting one-half reimbursement from the last repair, and they have "lost" the data to reimburse me three times now. My repairman laughed when I told him they would reimburse one-half the parts, and said, "that doesn't cost them anything. That's just the markup." Each repairman has shook his head and poured out sympathy to me, each time they have visited and repaired.
The dryer takes twice as long to dry as any other dryer I have owned, though I have not had to have it repaired. My dissatisfaction knows no bounds at this point.
I will never recommend a whirlpool again.
