Frustrating. Think I blew a fuse trying to deal with customer service.

by   bessielil ,  Jun 26, 2007
Pros: No problems unless you decide to use the self clean feature.
Cons: Customer service, while polite, was impossible. The wait-time, and being cut-off repeatedly, infuriating.
The Bottom Line: Given the high temperature of the oven on self-clean mode, I fear now that it will self-destruct, no matter what I do. Will have to buy another brand.
Review: It's the self-cleaning feature that creates the problem. It's the lack off admission on the part of Whirlpool customer service that has made me so furious. We bought the house with all the appliances already installed, and the house was 4-5 years old ...

Junk!

by   simmokj ,  Jun 8, 2004
Pros: not even one
Cons: Whirlpool!
Review: A big pile of junk! We have had nothing but trouble with this oven. It started when we first got it. I called Whirlpool service department and the told me to use the local appliance repair and they would bill Whirlpool. Since my control panel went out ...

Whirlpool Single Wall Oven RBS305PD

by   dimoc ,  Oct 26, 2005
Pros: There are no redeeming qualities of this unit.
Cons: Seven year cumulative repair expense has almost exceeded the initial purchase price.
Review: Total piece of junk. Self clean cycle causes total oven non- function. Even with Whirlpool's upgrade cooling fix, every cleaning cycle burns out the flush mount SPDT thermostat, a $35.00 replacement part plus the service call if you cannot do the ...

DO NOT BUY!

by   azzivar ,  Nov 25, 2005
Pros: It did work well before we used the "SELF-DESTRUCT" "feature"
Cons: $850 down the tubes...
Review: We had this oven for 6 years, and used the "self-cleaning" feature twice and it burned out just before Thanksgiving this year. The manufacturer should retitle this "feature" as "SELF -DESCTRUCT" as that's basically what happens when you use it. I've ...

Do Not Purchase A total piece of JUNK And a fire hazard to boot

by   bullet367 ,  Jul 23, 2005
Pros: When it works (which isn't often)-it works.. Unfortunately, it never really works very often.
Cons: Un reliable, built by a company which is not willing to back their product
Review: We also have owned one of these models since new. We also have had to have it repaired quite often. This model has the rather dangerous habit of BURNING UP if you use the "self-clean" option. It gets so HOT it literally melts itself. Whirlpool KNOWS all ...

Safety hazard...Overheated during self-clean

by   ppkm2003 ,  Sep 10, 2005
Pros: Lasted 4.5 years.
Cons: Overheated and burned out fuses 2nd time used self-clean feature.
Review: Did not buy this oven. Came with our new house. Oven worked OK until we tried the self-clean feature. What a mistake! First time we used it the oven got very hot.. the area outside the oven including our wooden cabinets also very hot. The ...
