Run - DO NOT WALK - from these products. After two years the over-the-range microwave model GH911XEQ frame of the door began cracking, and the door handle cracked. The door couldn't be closed so we could not use it. The repairman refused to believe the cracks occurred due to faulty workmanship. He insisted that we had done something to cause the cracks. He said it could not be repaired and offered me a 10% discount on a new microwave. Needless to say, I did buy a new unit, but it was not a Whirlpool!
The electric oven (RBS245PDQ) was baking at 350 when it locked the door and the heat increased so high that it burned the interior of the oven, the door, the wall unit housing the oven and the cabinet door above the oven. The door could not be opened nor could the oven be turned off! Smoke filled the house before I could get to the electrical panel box to trip the breaker which was the only was to turn the oven off. The door remained locked until the oven cooled. I read on line that this has occurred with other ovens of this same model. I replaced the oven with a new product - not made by Whirlpool!
