Wouldn't buy again

Three years ago we bought this unit although it was at the top of our price range.  We thought that buying a microwave at this price would give us many years of service.  It died two months ago!  I was cooking dinner and had it on level 5 for 10 minutes.  After a couple of minutes I noticed that it was off and as I walked toward it, it started again and then turned off again!  When I opened the unit I noticed a spark (no I didn't have any metal in it, not even it's metal shelf) so I immediately turned it off.  I tried to turn it back on but there was no power except for the cooktop light under it.  We don't use the microwave for everyday cooking so this was a complete shock to me.   I finished my dinner on my stove and left the light on as a nightlight.  The next morning when I came down I noticed that the light was off and there was no life left in the unit at all.  At this point I went to my panel board and turned off any power to the unit. We are extremely dissapointed in Whirlpool's microwave and are hoping that all the other Whirlpool large appliances that we bought in the same year will give us better service.  We had really believed that we were buying top of the line.
