Whirlpool LTE5243D Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

I'm astonished that anyone could like this product. I moved into a condo that had one--It's only a couple of years old. The machine's shredded one blanket and put holes in several sets of sheets before I'd realized what was happening.

I've looked into other machines. Most of the high efficiency machines are, believe it or not, smaller. I've got a small closet that the washer is in. I was worried that I'd need to widen the door to get something full-sized (stackable) into the space, but that isn't the case.

It's noisy, too. It is in a closet between the bedrooms. If I start a load before going to bed, I have to listen to it grind away as it rattles the whole second floor. It would be nice if I could disable the dryer alarm, but no such luck.

As if shredding weren't enough, the dryer is weak. It takes at least two cycles to dry anything substantial. Think about how that will affect your energy bill.
