100% Usable Space!

Our last dishwasher was in a townhouse we rented. It had a nasty habit of getting clogged with food and can labels and making a really big mess. (Yes, I know, you're thinking, but Laura, I wash my dishes before I but them into the dishwasher and I don't put cans in the dishwasher! But I don't believe in washing them twice, that's what the dishwasher is for. :))
It was also really really loud.

When we had our house built a year ago, we had to buy a house full of appliances. We looked around and decided on the Whirlpool Gold with Quiet Wash plus. And of course, it came from Sears. (See my other appliance reviews.)
Features
This dishwasher has some really nice features. It has a variety of settings, soak, normal wash, heavy wash and a couple of others. I usually use normal or heavy, if I have some really yucky dishes. It does have a delay wash where you can set it to wash your dishes later but I really don't see the point of this. I mean, I want my dishes clean now, not in 4 hours!
There is no center wash tower, the water comes from the sides. This gives 100% usable space on the bottom rack, which is a really nice feature. The last rack folds down if you want to wash a really big pan.
No more clogged drain!
I don't remember exactly how this works but there is something in the dishwasher that chews up excess food and can labels and diverts it away from the rinse water. Not only are the dishes cleaner, the drain doesn't get clogged. I like this feature a lot.
Really clean dishes!
My dishes come out really clean with this dishwasher. I remember having to wash some stuff several times before it was clean, but I don't have to do that with this dishwasher. If you're one of those people who wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher, it really isn't necessary with this dishwasher. The dishes get really clean.
Noise
I am used to this dishwasher so I don't really remember how loud our last one was, but it was much louder than this one. However, if you are expecting a silent dishwasher, this is not one. It does have some noise, but it is fairly quiet.
Durability
We've had our dishwasher about 15 months now and have not had a single problem. It consistently gets our dishes clean. :)
One complaint I have is that the inside of the dishwasher is hard to clean. If you wash dishes with tomato sauce frequently, over time the inside tends to turn a little pink. I've heard you can use some vinegar to clean this, but I haven't tried it.
I highly recommend this dishwasher. It's worked well for us, and I bet it will work well for you! :)
