If you liked MTV's The State, you must drop whatever you are doing this very moment and run...RUN to the nearest video store and buy/rent this movie.
If a cast including Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd and Oz's Christopher Meloni doesn't convince you, how about a talking can of vegetables? That's right, this laugh-fest stars a Vietnam veteran can of vegetables. As you can see, this isn't your normal comedy.
Set in 1981, "Wet, Hot..." tells the story of the last day of a Jewish summer camp. You meet a plethora of eccentric characters, including State alum like Michael Showalter as "Coop" and Michael Ian Black as "McKinely"; Garafolo as the camp director "Beth" and Pierce as "Henry". This movie is so freaking outrageous you will wonder if they really actually put any serious thought at all in this movie. While the cast is overall excellent, Meloni and Rudd far out shine the rest. Meloni plays the Vietnam vet "Gene", who has some serious rage and sexual issues. Rudd plays resident camp a**hole "Andy" who is just plain and simple, a d*ck. Everytime either of these characters are on screen, you will be laughing so hard your stomach will implode.
WARNING: If you are homophobic, one scene in this movie will probably gross you out. Also, if you find beating up old people and/or stealing from old people offensive, there is another scene you will not enjoy. Also, if you are offended by mild... BUT FUNNY child kidnapping scenes... yeah... this movie is definitely only for people with a twisted sense of humor. Like me. I thought every second of this movie was f-ing hilarious!
