Not very good performance

Date of Review:  Mar 9, 2007
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't waste my money on this product. Get a non-networked version if you want one.
Review: I purchased this unit in order to run Windows backups to it.

It comes with a 1000BaseT (Gigabit) ethernet port and a USB port. However, the device can ONLY be accessed by a network connection.

The USB port is for adding an...

Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid

Date of Review:  Jan 2, 2008
The Bottom Line: Avoid this product at all costs. Poorly designed, misleading specifications, explicitly breaks stated functions
Review: Purchased the 1Tb edition in early December and will never trust WesternDigital's external hard drives again.

Setup is fairly straightforward and I was able to get the device connected without any difficulty at all. The MioNET software...

Good luck connecting this device

Date of Review:  May 23, 2007
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this product until they iron our connectivity problems unless you are a sucker for punishment
Review: What a great concept...a Terabyte of storage accessible from anywhere for $359 from Dell. I knew I had to have this product.

I'm not a techie, and am assured you don't need to be to set up this device. However, having worked remotely for...

It's OK, Not horrible like others say.

Date of Review:  Dec 3, 2009
The Bottom Line: It's OK.  Mionet software should improve over time.  Make sure you want an Ethernet Hard Drive.  It is slower than USB or Firewire.
Review: I bought a refurb for $90 including shipping.  I am still experimenting with it.  This is an Ethernet not USB hard drive.  It only works on the comparatively slow Ethernet system, so make sure that is what you want before you buy one.  I was able to...
