Black humour intelligent comedy

Feeling before the first season pilot:

The title of these series made me skeptical about it. Was sure it was to be another series for teen smokers.I'm not familiar with Showtime and did know what king of product they deliver. So, I've started with negative approach.But, let you know my friends, i was far far from the thrut.Let's begin the review.

The plot:

After the sudden death of his husband, the mother of 2 children will have to do the best to keep the way of life she had before. But it will be by an uncommon way: selling WEEDS. The problem is, she lived and a rich and modern suburb called Agrestic. She will run his little business not without trouble. Whit a lot of people and friends from this community, she will do the best she can do to feed is family, keep them out of trouble and keep is secret life.

OK everybody know about Mary-Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins. And like all the time, they are great.

Mary-Louise Parker play the role of the weed seller woman and she is really great. We can feel all is feeling without any words from is mouth. She acting like she never did before.

Elizabeth Perkins play the role of the sad bitc*&?% who's drinking scotch all days long and spend the money of his husband. She one of the greatest bitc*&?% on screen right know. But on some other way, we love her. She delivered a great great performance..

The rest of the cast is a little bit unknown for me but it gave me the chance to discover new great actor.

And i think than the success of this series is due to the cohesion of all those actors who did the best they can do.

The realistic:

Completely fictional city and a little bit strange to see a mother from this kind of place selling marijuana. Would be more credible to sell Cocaine. But the situation are like million of people had in everyday life: trying to pay their bills, first sexual experience, envy of other,school problems, love problems. Will see later.

The rhythm:

Pretty fast and they had no choice. Only 10 episodes for the first season. a lot of stuff from scenes to scenes. But, everything fit perfectly. Nothing seems to be throw.

Clarifications:

I need to be clear about something: the weed and the series. OK, we see a lot of weed in the series but believe me, it's a front door for much much more. Behind this front window, we have a lot that as nothing to do with the weed.Don't be afraid, this series is intelligent than all other series on the air.And the creator Jenji Kohan made a real good exposure of all the cliche and poor routine of the American life. It's probably what i like most in this series and it's what it made it so intelligent.

My conclusion:

This series is a jewel and I'm so happy that my first impression didn't let me away from this series. Great acting, intelligent story, and intelligent series. All and all, it's the best drama-comedy i have seen since..since... the best one.
