The
Persian Cat was the seed that started the whole
Webkinz craze in our household. It was a gift. I found it to be cute and the interactive website addictive. So I decided to get one for my hubby as a little surprise present.
Well
Keystone Candle Company was having a GANZ promotion. Buy one
Webkinz and get a select one free. So I ended up with a
Tiger for my honey and the
Leopard for me. Not a bad deal for $13.95 especially for
Webkinz newbies that dont already have a bunch of the fluffy critters or arent too particular about the freebie.
As it happens, I
love cats. Big, little, wild, or supposedly domestic I adore them all. So the
Leopard was a welcome addition to my budding
Webkinz collection.
Polka Dot happily joined his sister
Pandora and their other assorted stuffed animal siblings. They reside in a basket in my bedroom. In the world of
Webkinz,
Pandora and Polka Dot have a growing homestead than includes a bed room, living room, kitchen, office, play room, and a garden. Im saving for a bathroom and all the fixings next.
I suppose its a little sad that a near forty-year old woman visits
Webkinz World almost daily but it is good, light hearted fun. Besides, I enjoy the connection with the kids. My soon to be seven-year olds niece and nephew are constantly introducing me to their new pets and they get a kick out of showing Aunt Sherry and Uncle Phil how to operate the various components of
Webkinz World. Plus we all enjoy meeting up on line once or twice a month. Its a fun family activity.
My niece and nephew play with their stuffed
Webkinz but I couldnt see doing that with the
Leopard. Hes cute. His camel colored fur is crowded with black traced, bronze-brown colored spots. His white muzzle is accented with a tan nose, dark brown nose pad, and a few black freckles. Large whiskers protrude from his snout.
I think hes attractive but not cuddly. Actually, hes almost tactilely
offensive. His fur is course and stringy. It almost reminds me of a Koosh ball just not rubbery feeling. I dont like the sensation. Besides the scratchiness of the
Leopards skin, hes just not plush and huggable. I suppose for a childs small hands it is sufficient. As for me, I dont find much comfort in holding the little toy.
Still,
Polka Dot is cute enough in real life and in the virtual world. This
Leopard Webkinz is sure to be enjoyed by any feline enthusiast or
Webkinz addict. Like the other
Kinz, he comes with a secret code used for bringing him to life on Webkinz.com. There he and his owner can play games, attend classes, get an online job, go on a gem hunt, and so much more. Its a blast!
Yeah, the Persian cat was the catalyst. Now I have a few more felines on my
Webkinz Wish List. Im learning where the stuffed toys are sold in my area and which places offer the best deals. You can check out Webkinz.com for stores near you but be sure to call them first. Two of the retailers listed for my zip code no longer sell them. Costs can vary too. Ive seen them priced from $13.95 to $17.00. As nifty as they are, they arent really worth the higher cost. If they were fluffier and more substantially sized, perhaps that would warrant the expense. As for now, be wise.
Im fairly pleased with my
Leopard Webkinz. No, hes not the best one of the
Webkinz bunch but hell do. Of course, hell need a buddy soon. Maybe the
Charcoal Cat, or the
Siamese, or the
Lion, or the
