Weber Is Still The Winner

People laugh when we tell them that we still use our Weber charcoal grill. Our Weber is sixteen years old and has outlasted two gas grills. As far as we are concerned there is no comparison between the two type of products. Cooking on charcoal far out tastes any meal cooked on gas. We also purchased one of those chimneys which fill with charcoal to have your coals ready is about fifteen minutes. As far as we are concerned it is well worth the wait.

The kettle has been left outside ever since we purchased it, although we do put a Weber grill cover on it. No rust ever with the heavy gauge steel which Weber uses in its construction. The porcelain enameled steel bowl and lid are strong features in the long life of this grill.

Using the cover when cooking will save time, as much as 1/3 compared to a conventional oven because the hot air circulates constantly around the food as it cooks.

There are two methods of cooking in a Weber kettle- direct and indirect. Generally the direct method is used for fast cooking foods directly over the coals. that is foods which require 25 minutes or less of cooking time. Most other foods should be cooked by the indirect method.

To add years of life to your grill give it a thorough cleaning once a year. To do this remove the ashes and the grills. Next clean the porcelain finish with a spray on type of oven cleaner. Wipe out with paper towels and wash with a mild detergent and water. Rinse well with clear water and wipe dry.

The cooking book and instruction book which comes with the grill is terrific. You even get a ton or recipes inside. We cannot recommend this product even. It is by far the best way to outdoor cook.
