Author's Review

First of I want to start with I love that this movie takes place durning the World War II-era. Not may child's movies these days have some history to them. I also love that in a round about way it is a story about the Loch Ness monster. Leaving with that question in your head, "Could this story really be true?"

I think this is a great movie for the whole family! There are a few parts that might be scary to the really young ones.

Story:

It's the mid-point of World War II. The Mother, her two children (Kirstie and Angus) and staff of a massive Scottish manor is taken aback by the arrival of an entire English battalion. They are there, on express permission of the owner, to guard the local lake and prevent German U-boats from advancing on U.K. positions. The family has suffered the loss of the father in the war. Durning all of this the mother hires a new handyman Lewis. At the same time Angus finds a egg at the edge of the lake as soon pops out a baby "water horse" a mythic creature that takes an instant liking to Angus. Angus spends his time trying to hide him so that his mother will not find out. Lewis finds out about the water horse and says that he thought that they were just a myth. The water horse starts grow very quickly and they soon have to take him to the lake. Only at the lake the real trouble begins when there is a sub attack. Angus is the one that has to help the water horse out. Angus then gets ride the water horse though the lake and it because a sort of chase scene. Everything turns out great at the end. The movies ends with Angus all grown up just as it begain telling some teenagers passing through about his story.
