Drinks anyone?

I purchased this wonderful blending machine from amazon.com
for $90. This was by far the lowest price. The features that define it from other blenders are as follows.

1) Cloverleaf Glass Container: This is a heavy duty glass container where the blending occurs. I am confident that this container would be impossible to break in normal kitchen settings. If you dropped it on a stone floor it may be damaged. The shape creates a nice whirlpool inside the container when blending, and I feel this action further enhances the machines abilities.

2) Sturdy base: The base is made out of a sturdy metal. It is therefore both heavy and durable, unlike its plastic counterparts. You need not worry about this product moving or tipping while it is in use. The metal does, however, require more care than plastic might, which I will discuss further later.

3) Rubber/Metal blade assembly connection: I had a blender whose base was connected to the blade in the container by means of a "plastic-to-plastic" fitting. This blender broke, and thus I had to purchase a new one. The cheapness of these parts was what destroyed the machine. The Waring product however has a rubber base fitting that connects very securely to a metal component of the blade. This connection is solid and will not break.

4) Settings: There are only two speeds for this blender. At first I was very skeptical of this. The top setting appears slow, but everything gets blended. Ice gets demolished by the blade even on the lowest settings. The design of the container and the upward curve of the blades clearly ensure that everything gets blended quickly and that high speed does not matter.

5) Cleaning: it is recommended that you not clean the container in the dishwasher. What I do, and what IS recommended, is a wipe down of the base after each use. Then I clean the container in the sink, and run the container on low speed with soapy water twice to ensure its blade components are clear. Finally I hand dry the container.

In conclusion, I absolutely recommend this product. It looks nice on the counter of my kitchen. People are impressed by it. More importantly, it does the job of creating milkshakes and margaritas.
