This "War"'s Good For Plenty!

by   redmethodman ,  Oct 2, 2003
Pros: Incredible lyrics, considerably heavier, much better vocals than their last release.
Cons: ------
The Bottom Line: Read It!
Review: In 2001, New Jersey hardcore group Thursday released their second alblum Full Collapse on legandary punk label Victory Records. Although the label is hardly known for big selling bands, MTV2 and some rock stations quickly adopted the group and gav ...

The Real War Is in the Interpretation

by   mstyles3k ,  Oct 3, 2003
Pros: Greatly improved lryicism, Thursday explores new venues for songwriting
Cons: Tracks seem repetitious or boring to some. Some record stores charge an arm and leg.
The Bottom Line: If you can find it for 13 bucks or less, this album is a sweet secret and sure crowd-pleaser. If anything, buy it simply for the lyrics.
Review: New Jersey's Thursday blew listeners away with Victory Records release Full Collapse, a record that seemed to revolutionize what we as a general audience consider "emo" (music with an emphasis on the song's emotional identity), thus breaking the ge ...

In my CD player, [War] All the Time

by   DPU2002 ,  Oct 15, 2003
Pros: Every freakin' song.
Cons: I think there should be an Elvis song....just kidding. no cons.
The Bottom Line: There is absolutely no reason you should not give this CD a listen. This CD is amazing.
Review: This album is by far one of the better albums that I have listened to all year. Thursday the young group from New Brunswick, New Jersey consisting of Geoff Rickly (vocals), Steve Pedulla (guitar), Tucker Rule (drums), Tom Keeley (guitar), Tim Payne (bass) ...

Thursday Brings New Life To An Otherwise Stale Genre of Music

by   crazyed236 ,  Aug 17, 2006
Pros: Heartfelt lyrics, elaborate instrumental work, and a beautiful mix of melodic singing and violent screaming
Cons: While groundbreaking, this album does not live up to Thursday's previous releases
The Bottom Line: This is a beautiful compilation of songs that touch on the most important issues in today's society while promoting a message of compassion, hope, and personal identity.
Review: Thursday's War All the Time was a sweeping epic that brought new life to an otherwise stale genre. The cliches of mainstream music today were shattered by this young sextet from New Brunswick, New Jersey. The sincerity in vocalist Geoff Rickly's lyrics ...

Love, all of the time....

by   minorthreat78 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Dec 8, 2003
Pros: The best and worst of "emo"
Cons: See above
The Bottom Line: Its got lots of screaming, depressing themes, and catchy melodies. In other words, great for the geeky types out there. 4 1/2 Stars.
Review: I've been writing for Epinions for a while now, and, while still not even to my one year anniversary, I'd like to consider myself to have done a fairly decent job of providing some good reviews for the site that pays me slightly better than a Malaysian ...

These guys can't sing!

by   ikariya ,  Nov 18, 2003
Pros: Good beat, lyrics seem interesting
Cons: The vocalists need singing lessons!
Review: Granted, I don't actually own this album and have only heard some of the songs on the radio and online. But I've heard enough to say that these guys need singing lessons! The songs themselves sound like they could be really good-- interesting lyrics, ...

An unfortunate formula for success: Play the same damn music All The Time

by   punkrawka , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Sep 15, 2003
Pros: Four interesting, well-written tracks
Cons: Seven drab, cliché, sloppy tracks
The Bottom Line: Bleh.
Review: Normally, a sophomore album offers a listener one of two things: a wildly unsuccessful attempt at growth, or an impressive, measured growth album. So perhaps that's what makes Thursday's War All The Time remarkable -- it's so damn unremarkable. C ...
