Will not last as long as a professional clipper.
The Bottom Line:
A great clipper for head-shaves, crew-cuts, or trims. Great quality for the price. I urge every mom to get one--you'll love using it.

Author's Review
This clipper gets a lot of use in our house. Every Saturday I clip, buzz, or shave the heads of the men in my family (husband and two sons) to one degree or another. My husband wears a crew-cut, which is basically a cut that is buzzed/shaved up the back and sides, but cut flat on the top. This can be achieved by applying butch wax on the top (Krew Komb is a good one) so the hair stands straight up and can be cut flat with the Wahl clipper, using a flat-top comb.
I shave my boys' heads from May through September by either using the clipper with no guard/attachment on it (which completely shaves the hair down to the scalp) or by using the clipper with a #1 attachment (which leaves 1/8 inch of hair). This is a great haircut for boys during the summer months, because it is absolutely zero maintenance and is nice and cool during the summer heat. During the winter months I let the boys grow their hair on top and comb it forward and I cut the front into short bangs. The Wahl clipper comes with great attachments, including the left and right taper attachments which make it easy to keep the hair cut around the ears.
The Wahl clipper can also be used on necklines. I have a short, "Wedge," ladies haircut and I use the Wahl clipper between haircuts to keep my neck shaved clean. The Wahl clipper is very quiet and stays fairly cool, even through three haircuts and my neck-shave.
The clipper came with all the standard accessories although no video came with mine. I can't remember how many attachments came with the clipper, to be honest, as we generally just use the #1, #2, and left and right taper attachments. The others are likely misplaced! The clipper will occasionally get a little louder, but all you have to do is adjust it with a screwdriver. We don't have to worry too much about the clipper bogging down in thick hair as I generally keep their hair buzzed or shaved on a weekly basis. Their first haircut of the summer, when I shave off all the winter growth on top is the only time it may bog down a bit but it actually plows through the hair fairly easily without having to go over it more than once to get it shaved.
I've had this clipper for two years and it's still going strong. There are cheaper clippers on the market, but the $15 ones don't last very long. This clipper is an excellent value for the price. I couldn't recommend it more highly!
HAIRCUT TIP: I've had lots of mom's asking me for tips on how to use a clipper, what haircut I recommend, etc. Here are the steps to take for the perfect haircut:
1. Seat your boy in a good chair in a room where you don't mind hair falling on the floor. (I do all my barbering in the kitchen).
2. Wrap a cape (or towel) around your boy and secure at the neck with a safety pin.
3. Place the #1 attachment on the Wahl clipper. Starting at the top of the head and working from front to back, run the clipper over the boy's head until all the long hair has been buzzed off and an even length of stubble remains.
4. Next, run the clipper up the back and sides starting at the bottom and moving up.
5. Go over the entire head until all of the hair is removed, except for an even length of stubble. The #1 attachment will leave 1/8 inch.
6. You can leave this length for a completed haircut, but what I like to do is remove the attachment and run the clipper up the back and sides again with no attachment. This will completely shave the back and sides for a super clean and cool haircut. You can also shave the top, if desired. Either haircut will look super sharp and make your boys look handsome.
TRUST ME, MOMS. Once your boys hair is gone, you'll never miss it and neither will they! When I'm out in public and I see boys with those straggly, shaggy mops I'm so glad my boys heads are buzzed clean. TRY THIS HAIRCUT! YOU WILL LOVE IT!
UPDATE: I still have my Wahl clippers and still use them on occasion. However, I did purchase an Oster clipper for weekly use and for big jobs such as plowing through thick hair, such as when you go from long hair to shaved. Please check my review of the Oster for more information on that clipper.
