Author's Review
Being a hardcore wwf fan, i knew i simply had to get this game, knowing that THQ (makers of Wrestlemania 2000) would not let me down, i decided to give this game a try, and my feelings for it are mixed.
Graphics: (8/10)
Picture taking a psx version of smackdown, now put it in bleem and you'll get royal rumble, a clear resolution game that has accurate wrestlers for size and physical looks that go from their clothes to their hieght. The arena having all the works with stage lights and fireworks.
Sound: (6/10)
It's a shame that the entrances are so short cause the wwf theme songs for the wrestlers are the best! While the sounds for bodies slaming to the mat, or having wrestlers whipped into the coners makes it sound realistic.
Control: (6/10)
Using the same control as smackdown, i am not to pleased with it. I would rather prefer the control that was used in wrestlemania 2000 then this only cause it is smoother and much more friendly, but still it's not to complicated to know what your doing.
Replay Value: (7/10)
This one will be argued by depending on if you have friends/siblings to play this game with, if your by yourself then dont expect to be coming back as if you had 1-3 friends joining you in. Plus it couldn't hurt to add in some more modes or secrets.
Bottom Line: (7/10)
For a solo game, it's not what you would expect from THQ, since there are only 2 modes and 20 wrestlers to pick from, but you have to remember that this is an arcade port, nothing more, nothing less. However, as a party game, it's a blast, it will keep you and your friends busy as you burn hours and hours of fun.
