Cisco/Linksys owes us all money

The Bottom Line: Try something else - Leave this one in the store.
I'll preface this by stating that I *am* an IT professional who works in VERY large corporate environments. There's not much I HAVEN'T seen in my carreer. And lest Cisco imagine me to be in a branch of IT that doesn't include the 'right sort of talents', I'll blow that away right now. I've literally installed tens-of-thousands of printers, on loads of print servers of my 30+ year career (still active). I also work, hands-on, on lots of hundred-thousand-dollar routing and switch-gear on a daily basis.
That said, I'll caution any reading this before making a purchase-decision... This unit has VERY MAJOR FLAWS!
Primary Symptom:
The IP stack on the unit simply disappears during configuration! Once it goes, you can no longer ping the unit at its assigned address. Somehow (obviously, not via IP), the BIADMIN utility *can* talk to the unit, and will show you that you are pinging the right address, but forget printing at this point. If you unplug the unit, leave it overnight, and try it again the next night, it will miraculously begin responding to PING at the same address it failed at the night before. Truly weird!
If you're intrigued by puzzles, are *extremely* stubborn, methodical, and highly motivated (I bought 3 of these things, just on the 'Linksys' /'Cisco' name) and are willing to invest a LOT of time working with it, (you don't get to my stage as an IT professional without these traits ;) ), you actually *can* get this thing to print!
But it mystifies me that this piece of junk ever shipped to market! Steer Way Clear of this one!!! There are better things to spend your hard-earned money on. And Cisco owes us all an apology and at the very least, our money back.
